The 330 MW power unit no. 5 within the Rovinari Power Plant has undergone an extensive rehabilitation and modernization process, which was started in 2014.
In order to comply with all the conditions imposed by the environmental legislation in force, unit no. 5 was connected to the existing wet gas desulfurization plant of unit no. 3, after its shutdown in 2023.
The flue gases from the Electrofilter of unit no. 5 (located at an elevation of +92.00m) are transported to the Desulfurization Plant of unit no. 3 through a flue gas exhaust system composed of flue gas channels with a variable rectangular shape and circular section (Dint = 7900mm).
The channels were supported by 7 metal structures.
