As part of the modernization project of the Govora Power Plant, two counter-pressure steam turbines were installed, intended to supply industrial consumers with steam at pressure levels of 35 bar and 6 bar. The DKA6.5 type steam turbine is powered by the live steam bar of the plant, at the parameters of 152 bar and 545°C, delivering industrial steam of 35 bar and 320°C in counterpressure and ensuring a maximum electrical power of 6.5 MWe, while the TKR4.7 turbine is powered by the 16 bar steam bar of the plant, at 285°C, delivering industrial steam of 6 bar and 215°C and producing a maximum electrical power of 4.7 MWe.
The role of PIPESUPPORT CONSULT was to develop the complete design documentation for all the piping systems necessary to connect the two turbines to the existing plant installations. The activities carried out included the analysis of the existing situation and the identification of the space available for the placement of the equipment, the establishment of the optimal geometry of the piping systems, the performance of voltage analyses to optimize the configuration of the pipes and support systems using the CAESAR II software, the elaboration of the execution and assembly documentation for the piping systems with the help of AutoCAD 2D/3D applications, as well as the preparation of the technical specifications for the procurement of pipe elements and assembly instructions.
Also, PIPESUPPORT CONSULT provided technical assistance during the assembly, developed the program for monitoring the behavior of the pipe support systems over time and drew up the necessary documentation and procedures for the execution of pressure tests and steam blowing operations.
